Meanwhile, Chelsea bounced back from last weekend’s shock defeat to Everton with a controlled 3–0 win at Brighton. Sandy Baltimore opened the scoring with a worldie — her first WSL goal for the club.

Arsenal, kept pace with the top two thanks to a 3–1 victory at Everton, with Alessia Russo marking her 100th WSL appearance with a goal — even if she didn’t know much about it.

Elsewhere, Leicester ended an eight-game winless run with a gritty 1–0 win over London City, while Liverpool showed resilience to earn a 2–2 draw at West Ham — despite playing over 70 minutes with ten players.

WSL 25/26 Everton 1-3 Arsenal Scoreboard

Arsenal leapfrogged Manchester United into the Champions League places with a 3–1 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

In a frenetic opening spell, the visitors took the lead in the 11th minute. Katie McCabe unleashed a stunning strike from range that looped over Courtney Brosnan and into the far corner. It was her first WSL goal of the season.

However, Everton responded immediately. Just two minutes later, Honoka Hayashi levelled with a superb long-range effort of her own, rifling past Anneka Borbe to make it 1–1.

But Arsenal restored their lead almost instantly. Kyra Cooney-Cross’s shot deflected off Alessia Russo’s chest and was adjudged to have crossed the line, despite Brosnan’s efforts to claw it away. As a result, Russo marked her 100th WSL appearance with her 54th league goal.

In the second half, the Gunners took control and limited Everton’s opportunities. Eventually, that dominance told. In the 87th minute, Olivia Smith sealed the win with a cleanly struck volley from the edge of the area – her third league goal of the season.

The result lifts Arsenal to third, now two points behind Chelsea. Meanwhile, Everton remain just five points clear of bottom-placed Liverpool.

WSL 25/26 Brighton 0-3 Chelsea Scoreboard

Chelsea returned to winning ways with a commanding 3–0 victory over Brighton at the Broadfield Stadium, keeping up the pressure on league leaders Manchester City.

After a cagey opening half-hour, the breakthrough came just before the interval. Sandy Baltimore collected the ball on the left, cut inside, turned two Brighton defenders inside out, and curled a sublime finish into the top corner. It was her first WSL goal since joining the club in the summer.

Chelsea doubled their lead shortly after the restart. Erin Cuthbert’s dangerous delivery into the box caused confusion, and Caitlin Hayes inadvertently headed the ball into her own net. As a result, the visitors took full control.

From that point, Chelsea managed the game comfortably. Eventually, they added a third in the 73rd minute. Substitute Sam Kerr found Alyssa Thompson inside the area, and the American forward calmly slotted home from close range to seal the points.

The result keeps Chelsea second, six points behind Manchester City heading into the winter break. Meanwhile, Brighton’s three-match unbeaten run comes to an end, leaving them seventh in the table.

WSL 25/26 Leicester 1-0 london city lionesses Scoreboard

Leicester City claimed a vital 1–0 home victory over London City Lionesses at the King Power Stadium, ending a run of eight WSL matches without a win.

Although London City enjoyed the majority of possession, they struggled to break down a well-organised Leicester side. The hosts remained compact and disciplined throughout. As a result, clear chances were limited in a scrappy and tightly contested first half.

The breakthrough came shortly before the hour mark. In the 59th minute, Asmita Ale’s clever knockdown inside the box found Shannon O’Brien, who reacted quickest to bundle the ball home from close range and give Leicester the lead.

London City pushed hard for a late equaliser and were handed a golden opportunity deep into stoppage time. In the 99th minute, Geyoro was brought down inside the box, and Kosovare Asllani stepped up from the spot. However, her penalty was tame and comfortably saved by Janina Leitzig, who ensured the points stayed in Leicester.

The result lifts Leicester six points clear of bottom side Liverpool. Meanwhile, London City fall to a second consecutive defeat, with their early-season momentum continuing to fade.

WSL 25/26 Man City 6-1 Aston Villa Scoreboard

Manchester City strengthened their grip on the Women’s Super League title race with a commanding 6–1 win over Aston Villa at the Joie Stadium.

The hosts took the lead in the 37th minute when Bunny Shaw latched onto a pinpoint through ball from Vivianne Miedema and slotted home. It was her 100th goal in City colours.

Shaw doubled her tally in first-half stoppage time. She cut inside after a clever pass from Yui Hasegawa and finished confidently into the bottom corner.

City picked up where they left off after the break. Aoba Fujino made it 3–0 in the 62nd minute, her strike looping over Villa goalkeeper Yamashita via a deflection.

Villa briefly rallied through Lucy Parker, who powered in a header from Missy Bo Kearns’ corner to reduce the deficit. However, City responded just three minutes later. Miedema restored the three-goal cushion with a simple tap-in after Fujino’s cutback.

Shaw completed her haul with two more late goals. First, she raced onto a pass from Kerolin and finished with composure. Then, in stoppage time, she bundled in a deflected strike from Grace Clinton.

The result keeps City six points clear at the top of the WSL. Meanwhile, Villa remain eighth amid ongoing inconsistency.

WSL 25/26 West Ham 2-2 Liverpool Scoreboard

West Ham and Liverpool played out a dramatic 2–2 draw — a match shaped by an early red card and late heroics, but one that ultimately does little to boost either side’s survival hopes.

The visitors were reduced to ten players in the 19th minute when centre-half Gemma Bonner was shown a straight red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. The decision was somewhat controversial, with Jenna Clark appearing to be in a covering position. Nevertheless, Liverpool were left to play over 70 minutes a player down.

Despite the numerical advantage, West Ham struggled to assert themselves. They only took the lead in the 57th minute through a set piece. Riko Ueki rose highest to head in from a Viviane Asseyi corner.

However, Liverpool equalised just two minutes later. Mia Enderby raced onto a flick-on from Beata Olsson and finished confidently for her first-ever WSL goal.

Anna Julia Csiki restored West Ham’s lead in the 68th minute. She fired through a crowded box after sustained pressure from the Hammers. But Liverpool refused to fold. In the 87th minute, Olsson intercepted a loose West Ham pass, rounded Tysiak, and calmly slotted home to secure a vital point.

The result keeps Liverpool bottom, though it offers a glimmer of hope heading into the winter break. Meanwhile, West Ham will rue a missed opportunity to pull clear of the relegation scrap.

WSL 25/26 Man U 3-3 Tottenham Scoreboard

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur played out a dramatic 3–3 draw at Leigh Sports Village, with the hosts mounting a remarkable comeback from 3–0 down with just 16 minutes of normal time remaining.

Despite dominating throughout, United somehow found themselves three goals behind. Bethany England opened the scoring with a thumping header from an inch-perfect Olivia Holdt cross midway through the first half. Eveliina Summanen made it 2–0 in first-half stoppage time, looping her header in at the back post from Ashleigh Neville’s delivery.

The third came just after the hour mark. Former United striker Martha Thomas, making her first WSL start of the season, rifled her effort into the roof of the net. The finish left the home crowd stunned.

However, United’s persistence eventually paid off. Ella Toone sparked the revival in the 74th minute with a superb hooked volley. Fridolina Rolfö pulled another back eight minutes later, finishing from close range. Then, in the 94th minute, she completed the comeback — latching onto a perfectly weighted Leah Galton cross to make it 3–3.

The result feels like a win for United. Still, there will be concern over how they fell so far behind despite controlling the game. They drop out of the Champions League places, while Spurs stay close in fifth.
