Jaedyn Shaw might not be a household name to fans in the UK, but across the pond she is already one of the biggest stars in the NWSL.
Still only 21, the American attacker has packed a huge amount into a very short career. She made her professional debut for San Diego Wave at 17, becoming the second-youngest player in NWSL history, scored the winner on her debut, and went on to make the NWSL Best XI in her breakout season.
Since then, she has continued to rise fast. Shaw moved to North Carolina Courage in January 2025, before signing for Gotham FC in September the same year. The transfer, worth a reported $1.25m, set a new NWSL intraleague record and confirmed her status as one of the most exciting young talents in the American game.
